    EducationPlannerBC and the NVSD invite parents, families, and student supporters to join the virtual workshop, Parents as Education and Career Coaches (PECC) on Tuesday March 5, 2024 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    Learn how you can support your student in planning for their future. The information will be especially helpful for families with students in Grades 10-12. The session is engaging and informative, and includes a website tour followed by a Q&A. The session will be recorded and emailed to all registrants.

    Topics include:

    • B.C.’s post-secondary education landscape, including institutions and credentials
    • Program and admission requirements, and application dates
    • Costs of post-secondary and options for financial aid
    • Career exploration resources, including Find Your Path
    • Using new tools such as My List to save and compare programs
    • Applying for admission through EducationPlannerBC.ca

    ​Initial registration for students new to the school district, and initial transfer requests for existing NVSD students in Grades 1-12 begin on Tuesday, January 9 and end on Friday, March 8.     International Women’s Day is an opportunity to bring attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights and violence and abuse against women, girls, Two-Spirit and not-binary people across the world. The theme for 2024 is “innovation and technology for gender equality. It is observed annually on March 8.
