Opportunity for students in grades 9-12

The program centres on student voice, teamwork, and communication. Students teams develop and present an idea they care about—whether entrepreneurial, community-focused, or creative. The program concludes with a provincial finale where teams present to business and community leaders. Prizes are available:

No prior experience is required, and students are supported throughout the process.

Calling all aspiring chefs!

This program introduces students to professional kitchen operations, cooking fundamentals, baking, butchery, and café service while building teamwork, communication, and time-management skills. Students may earn 30 VCC credits, 20 high school credits, and Level 1 Red Seal certification. Open to Grade 11–12 students.

2026-2027 CARPENTRY: YOUTH TRAIN IN TRADES PROGRAM

This hands-on program is perfect for students passionate about learning practical skills in carpentry and construction. Whether you’re exploring a future career or simply gaining a skill that lasts a lifetime, this program delivers. Learn from a Red Seal-certified instructor, earn 16 high school credits, achieve Level 1 Carpentry Training certification, and master essentials like blueprint reading and advanced tool use. The Building Tomorrow Youth Trades Fair is designed to connect youth with the wide range of career opportunities available within the trades sectors. Representatives from leading trades schools, companies, and institutions will be present to provide information about education pathways, job opportunities, industry trends, and more. Attendees will have the chance to learn firsthand about careers in engineering, construction, and other fields.The fair will also be supported by a number of generous sponsors who are committed to fostering growth in the trades industry.
