Interested in working with kids?

Explore the world of child development and learn how children grow physically, cognitively, socially, emotionally, and through language. After completing the Langara course, you’ll gain 90 hours of hands-on Work Experience in a daycare and/or Kindergarten classroom—perfect for building skills, experiencing a post secondary course, and exploring a future career working with children. Applications are due March 13 and are available through your school counselor, WEX teacher, or online.

Calling all aspiring chefs!

This program introduces students to professional kitchen operations, cooking fundamentals, baking, butchery, and café service while building teamwork, communication, and time-management skills. Students may earn 30 VCC credits, 20 high school credits, and Level 1 Red Seal certification. Open to Grade 11–12 students.

This hands-on program is perfect for students passionate about learning practical skills in carpentry and construction. Whether you’re exploring a future career or simply gaining a skill that lasts a lifetime, this program delivers. Learn from a Red Seal-certified instructor, earn 16 high school credits, achieve Level 1 Carpentry Training certification, and master essentials like blueprint reading and advanced tool use. Students will learn about the many career pathways in law enforcement and emergency services. From dispatch and forensics to canine units and making an arrest, this interactive experience will be something not to forget! Students will engage in activities and that highlight the importance of teamwork and communication skills as they role play scenario's based off real RCMP experiences. STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS
