Carpentry Framing and Forming Foundation

What does a carpenter do? 

  • ​Assembles and erects falsework and forms for wood, concrete and metal frame construction 
  • Installs interior and exterior finishing materials for residential, commercial and industrial projects 
  • Reads architectural drawings (blueprints) and builds while conforming to plans, specifications and building codes

  • ​Entering Grade 11 or Grade 12 
  • Good employability skills 
  • Strong interest in the industry 

​What are the benefits?

  • Post-secondary apprenticeship training without the tuition fee 
  • Up to 16 credits towards graduation 
  • Apprenticeship Technical Training Level 1 Certification 
  • Student registered with SkilledTradesBC 

​When and where is the program offered?

  • ​23 weeks, full-time at BCIT (Burnaby Campus) 
  • Classes are held in-person Monday-Friday from 7:30AM-2:00PM
