Central Registration is now accepting transfer requests and new registrations for Grades 1-12 for the 2025-26 school year. To register a student or submit a transfer application, please book an appointment online, complete a registration or transfer form, and review the information on our Registration webpage to ensure you bring all required materials. For 2026-27 registration and transfer dates, visit our Registration webpage. To notify us of a student withdrawal, please email withdrawals@sd44.ca.

2026/27 Academies — Application period open

The application period for academies is open January 15 to February 28, 2026. The following academies will be offered during the 2026/27 school year: Artists for Kids Studio Art, Basketball, Dance, Digital Media, Digital Media Lite, Field Hockey, Hockey Skills, Rowing, Soccer and Volleyball.

Each year, the school district undertakes a public consultation process for input on budget priorities that fall under the Operating Budget and align with the school district’s strategic goals, vision and values.

Late French Immersion (Grade 6 entry) — Application period open

The Late French Immersion Program is a two-year intensive program offered to all students who have successfully completed Grade 5.

Applications to the program are accepted until March 13, 2026.

Elementary Band & Strings — Registration period open

Elementary Band and Strings is an instrumental music program that is distinctive to the North Vancouver School District. Band and Strings complements the BC Ministry of Education's Arts Education curriculum and provides school-based instrumental ensemble instruction to students in the intermediate grades.

Starting February 3 through February 23, school district community members are invited to provide input on budget priorities that fall under the Operating Budget and align with the school district’s strategic priorities. There are several ways to provide feedback, including through an online survey, email and traditional mail.
You can also participate during the Standing Committee Meetings on February 3 and March 3, 2026.

Calendar of Significant Dates and Events
In 2007, David Shepherd and Travis Price encouraged their classmates to wear pink after a new student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. The goal of Pink Shirt Day is to create a more kind, inclusive world and foster children's healthy self-esteem by raising awareness and funds for anti-bullying initiatives. Pink Shirt Day is observed annually on the last Wednesday of February.

The Elementary Band & Strings Program is a unique instrumental music program that is distinctive to the NVSD. The program complements the BC Ministry of Education’s Arts Education curriculum and provides school-based instrumental instruction to students in the intermediate grades (Grades 5 – 7 for Band and Grades 4 – 7 for Strings).
