About StrongStart
StrongStart
BC is a preschool program designed for parents, guardians, or
caregivers to participate with your young child (aged birth to five) in
one-on-one, play-based early learning activities - including stories,
music and art. At no cost to families, this early learning drop-in
program helps prepare children for success in Kindergarten.
The North
Vancouver School District is very proud of the StrongStart program we provide in seven of our elementary schools. Children and
their parents or caregivers in our community can access high quality
early learning environments and activities offered in the StrongStart
centres located at Norgate, Westview, Montroyal, Eastview, Boundary,
Lynnmour, and Seymour Heights Elementary Schools.
To help children get ready for success in
kindergarten, qualified early childhood educators lead and demonstrate learning activities, story time, music and art. Parents
and caregivers will learn how they can help support their children's
learning, language development, skills, knowledge, and attitudes for
success in school.
The StrongStart
Facilitators prepare the snacks for children at the Centres to ensure
compliance with food safety standards. StrongStart is a "nut-aware" program.
Registration
To ensure the
health and safety of children, caregivers, and staff, StrongStart sessions will have a maximum of 6
children with one accompanying parent/caregiver.
Parents/caregivers
are asked to select both a preferred StrongStart location and one preferred day
of the week. StrongStart facilitators at
your location will let parents/caregivers know if additional sessions become
available.
Parents/guardians will receive a confirmation email indicating location and day of the
week once registrations are processed.
Parents/caregivers will also receive a welcome email from facilitators outlining
hygiene protocols and entry locations specific to each school site.
The
Registration form is available here.
Registration forms and required documents may be handed in at a StrongStart location.
Please Note: If your child (ren) has been previously registered, please submit the registration form for this school year. Citizenship and Proof-of-Residency documents are not required with the submission.
The StrongStart Guidelines are available here.
COVID-19
COVID-19
protocols will be outlined and sent to parents/caregivers in a welcome email
from a StrongStart facilitator.

School District may be found HERE.
