Mini Med School

​​​​What is Mini-Med?

Presented by the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute. 

Sessions that run over 4 consecutive Wednesdays, 7-9pm. 

Includes presentations from clinicians and researchers on current topics and includes time for students to ask questions.  

Topics for 2023 include:  genetics, vaccine development and antibiotics. 

​Who should attend? 

  • ​In person – grade 12 students 
  • Virtually – grade 11 & 12 students 
  • Must be able to attend all sessions. 

What are the benefits?

  • ​Engage with researchers and clinicians at BC Children’s Hospital. 
  • Building industry connections. 
  • Explore and learn about current issues in the medical field.  
  • Opportunity to ask questions directly to the presenters.  
  • Receive a weekly newsletter to keep you informed on program updates. 
  • Receive an electronic certificate of program completion if you participate in all 4 sessions (for students who apply in person). 

​When and where is the program offered?

  • ​BC Children’s Hospital located at 950 West 28th Ave, Vancouver 
  • Students MUST be able to find their own transportation. 
  • Students MUST attend all four sessions. 
  • Dates for 2023: Four consecutive Wednesdays, 7-9pm. 
  • Application window opens September 11, 2023.
