​​​​​​​What is BCIT's Biotechnology Career Awareness Program? 

  • ​​Hands on program introducing students to scientific research and biotechnology through lab-based activities as well as industry connections. 
  • Includes laboratory workshops at BCIT and industry visits. 
  • Built on a partnership between BCIT, Life Sciences BC, local biotechnology companies and participating school districts.
  • 24 seats available.

​Who should attend? 

  • ​​​Grade 10, 11 & 12 students with an interest in scientific research and lab work. 
  • Able to initiate and maintain conversation with industry professionals. 
  • Must be able to attend all sessions. 

What are the benefits? 

  • ​​Gain experience in a post-secondary lab environment. 
  • Building connections with industry employers. 
  • Explore and learn about different careers in biotechnology. 

When and where is the program offered?

  • ​​BCIT Burnaby Campus 
  • Multiple intakes 
  • One week, Monday to Friday, full time 

What is the cost? 

  • ​​​$233.64  Domestic Students (subject to change) 
  • $700.92 International Students (subject to change) 
  • Partial Financial Support may be available through the North Vancouver School District for Domestic Students
