Dear North Vancouver School District Community Members,

It has been a little over a week since I began a new chapter with the North Vancouver School District.

I am proud and excited to have this opportunity to serve the school district community as Superintendent of Schools. I look forward to working alongside the Board of Education, rights holders, educational partner groups, students and staff to ensure we continue to meet the teaching and learning needs of all students and staff. Aligning our collective efforts with the school district’s five educational priorities and six strategic goals​ sets us up for a bright future!

While I will very much enjoy sharing with you highlights from our Vibrant Learning Communities--welcoming, safe and inclusive learning environments where students and staff learn, share, grow and thrive together--I would like to take a moment to acknowledge this busy time of year. June is traditionally the time when we celebrate the culmination of outstanding teaching and learning through events, ceremonies, and student performances.

Across the school district, Grade 7 students are celebrating their transition to secondary school, Grade 12 students are marking a major life milestone, and retiring staff are preparing for their next chapter. It is truly wonderful to once again be able to celebrate in person the people and the tremendous work that is happening throughout the school district. This is especially significant given the fact it has been a challenging couple of years, where in person celebrations were either not possible or limited in scope. Please join me in acknowledging all school district staff, past and present, who go above and beyond to support students and school communities. In addition, please join me in wishing graduates and retirees all the best-- know you will always remain an important part of the NVSD family!

On a final note, I would like to thank the Board of Education for their trust in selecting me as the Superintendent of Schools. I am honoured to be part of a system that values progressive, innovative and inclusive public education, and I look forward to continuing to share with you the good work that is happening at the school district.
