New Student Registration
Key dates
For the current school year (2025/26), Transfer Requests are accepted on an on-going basis.
Priority Placement for the  2026/27 closed March 13, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Transfer requests received after March 13, 2026 will be considered based on catchment and available space.​
Priority Registration for the 2027/28 school year will open from January 1 to March 1, 2027.

​​​​​​​​How to register for the 2026-2027 School Year

All new registrations have now moved online. Please see below for the links to the online registration portals.

Step 1 – Gather required documents

Visit the Required Documents web page for a comprehensive list required for all new student registrations. Additional documents are required based on the category of application; Canadian citizen or permanent resident, work permit holder, study permit holder, and refugees.

Please be prepared to upload the required documents into the online portals. 

Step 2 – Find your catchment

Use the School Locator tool to find your catchment.

Catchments are determined by the area in which the students' parents or guardians reside. Students will attend the school in their catchment area unless there is no physical or program space available.

Note: this does not apply to North Vancouver Online Learning and international students.

Step 3 – New registrations: Use online registration portals 

Kindergarten: Visit the Kindergarten Registration web page for instructions on how to register online through the MyEducation BC Portal.

Grades K-12: Visit the NVSD Student Registration website.
