Food Access

The North Vancouver School District supports students through several targeted and intensive programs. Food Access is a universal program that ensures the availability of nutritional food all day for every student.

Through the Food Access program, all schools make food available every day to all students in visible, high-traffic and accessible locations.

Feeding Futures

The intent of the Province’s Feeding Futures funding--$214 million over three years--is to support school districts across B.C. build and expand local school food programs to best meet the needs of school communities.

In North Vancouver, the Feeding Futures program gives students at school access to healthy food (e.g., fruit, vegetables, milk, sandwiches, breakfast, snacks, etc.) and cafeteria access.

Feeding Futures consists of a variety of food programs. These programs may differ from school to school, as they are intended to meet the needs of the school community. The programs will also grow in scope as needs, guidelines and staffing are established.
