Surveillance in High School and Community Sport to Reduce Concussions in Canadian Youth (SHRed) Concussions Research Project

BC Children’s Hospital researchers, in partnership with the NVSD, are recruiting athletes (13-17 years of age) for SHRed Concussions, a Canada-wide research project funded by the NFL’s Scientific Advisory Board to help improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment of concussions in youth sport.

We know young brains take longer to heal when a concussion occurs, so in promoting best practice to properly recognize, respond to and prevent concussion, we are partnering with SHRed Concussions. Participation in this project is a way to provide our student-athletes with expert and expedited care, through BC Children’s Hospital, in the event of an injury.
