The three Grade 7 classes at Highlands Elementary in North Vancouver have been busy the last couple of weeks.

Inspired to do some good during this challenging holiday season, students Sophia Brewer and Amelia Codrington, with the blessing of their teacher, partnered with Delish General Store in Edgemont Village for a coat drive project.

The Grade 7s collected more than 160 coats which are set to be delivered to the general store later this week. The shop is then going to take an even bigger bundle of warm items and donate them to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Emergency Shelter as well as several other non-profits.
