All 25 of the North Vancouver School District's elementary schools provide quality educational programs for students in Kindergarten through Grade 7 that focus on developing the personal, social and academic potential of each student.
Our elementary program is divided into two levels:
- Primary: Kindergarten* to Grade 3
- Intermediate: Grades 4 to 7
* Kindergarten students must turn five before December 31 of the year they enter Kindergarten. Students are placed into their respective grades based on their birth year as per BC Ministry of Education guidelines.
Our elementary schools welcome international students, provided their own parent(s) reside in North Vancouver with their child(ren) for the full school year. Elementary students are not permitted to reside in homestay or with family friends or relatives.
International students are welcome to request specific school placements, and depending on the timing of application and availability, most students are placed at a school of their request. We also work with students and their families to make school recommendations, based on the family's preferred neighbourhood and school size, and the interests, needs or talents of each student.
Coming September 2026 - Cloverley School!
We are very excited to announce the opening of a new elementary school in the NVSD! The International Program will start accepting applications for Cloverley on July 15, 2025 for September 2026 entry.
Enrolment will be expanded by school year:
2026-2027 school year: kindergarten through Grade 5
2027-2028 school year: kindergarten through Grade 6
2028-2029 school year: kindergarten through Grade 7
