The Gordon Smith Gallery and Artists for Kids is thrilled to invite you to the opening of the exhibition, The Art of Conversation, on Saturday, September 23, 2 - 4 p.m.
Public hours are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 12 to 4 p.m. The exhibition closes on February 29, 2024.
The Art of Conversation features artwork by over 20 Canadian artists, exploring the role of art as a platform for communication. The Art of Conversation draws conversational threads between the works in the gallery, highlighting art’s potential to facilitate and provoke dialogue. The perspectives and artistic conversations of elementary and secondary school students will be featured through original writing and art.
Visit Artists for Kids' website for more information.
Visit our Public Meetings web page for information on how you can participate and to review the meeting agenda and board package (the latter is posted on the Thursday afternoon preceding the public meeting).
The Elementary Band and
Strings Program is a unique instrumental music program that is
distinctive to the NVSD. The program complements the BC Ministry of
Education’s Arts Education curriculum and provides school-based
instrumental instruction to students in the intermediate grades (Grades 5
– 7 for Band and Grades 4 – 7 for Strings).
More information is available on the Band and Strings web page.
