​​If you would like to be considered for a school-based award, you can find the application form in the Scholarship Info channel of your CLC Team. Applications Monday, February 16, 2026 at 11:59 pm.  Late submissions will not be accepted, and only students who complete the application form will be considered for awards.

​For external scholarship, bursary, and/or financial aid information, check out the following websites:

  • C: Information about types of expenses, budgeting, student aid, and types of financial support; connects students to scholarship and other financial aid.
  • Global Scholarships: Connects students to university, external, and government scholarships, particularly for international students.
  • North Vancouver High School Education Foundation: The NVHSEF offers three types of awards. The Handsworth Scholarship Committee selects and invites several students to apply every year.
  • Scholar Tree: Helps students to find and apply for scholarships. Requires an account.
  • Scholarships Canada: Lists relevant scholarships and bursaries, free of charge. Requires an account, but students are not charged for using the site.

Loran Award
​The Loran Award offers a four-year leadership-enrichment program, financial support for undergrad, diverse opportunities for experiential learning, and a long-term supportive community of peers and mentors—people who will inspire and motivate you in your pursuit to make a difference.

Lester B. Pearson Student Scholarship

The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships at the University of Toronto​  is intended to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and creativity and who are recognized as leaders within their school. A special emphasis is placed on the impact the student has had on the life of their school and community, and their future potential to contribute positively to the global community.

TD Scholarship and Financial Aid

TD Scholarship for Indigenous Peoples: ​​​25 scholarships available

TD Scholarship for Community Leadership: valued at up to $70,000 over 4 years toward a post-secondary college or university education.​

UBC International Scholars Prog​ram
If you are an international student and will apply to UBC, consider submitting your application to Handsworth's Scholarship committee to be the school's nominee. 

There are four categories of prestigious need-and-merit-based awards available through UBC’s International Scholars Program. You won’t select which award you wish to receive when you submit your application – our team will automatically consider you for the awards that you are eligible for.

Beedie Luminaries

​Beedie Luminaries has several scholarships available for students with potential who are facing financial and other life adversities. Students who are smart, but constrained by circumstance. Students who are resilient and gritty. Students who are ready to make a positive change in their lives.

There are four programs available to graduating high school students, so you might be the right fit for one of them!

·  Shine, for a promising grade 12 student

·  Build, for students entering into the trades at BCIT

·  Rise, for refugees and immigrants

·  Spark, for single parents


There are specific eligibility requirements for each program, so please see the links above for more specific information and to apply.

BC Excellence Scholarship

​​​​Awarded to 55 high school graduates who have demonstrated service and leadership, both at school and in their communities, and who show aptitude for and commitment to their chosen career or area of post-secondary study.​​​January TBD

​​Schulich Leader Scholarship

Designed for students who display entrepreneurial spirit, maintain academic excellence, and intend to pursue a career in tech, engineering, entrepreneurship and/or applied scientific research. They are not considering students who focus on activism, intend to become a practicing physician and/or medical researcher, and/or intend to become a professor and conduct theoretical research.​January TBD

Western University National Scholarship Program

​​​​​Designed for students going to Western to recognize all-round excellence, on the basis of outstanding academic performance to candidates who demonstrate ability for creative and innovative thought and a passion for the pursuit of learning. It also recognize exceptional achievement in extracurricular activities such as the arts and athletics

West Vancouver Foundation Scholarships
​​​​Various awards are open to students going to school on the North Shore. Visit the website to confirm criteria guidelines and monetary amounts. Some awards are specific to certain secondary schools.

​​Bonnie McLaren Award
Eligible applicants are young women who:
  • are currently between the ages of 14 and 17, in high school, and resident in North Vancouver or West Vancouver
  • have demonstrated initiative in both identifying a problem and trying to solve it
  • have had significant and noteworthy accomplishments as volunteers​

​For graduating students from SD44 who have completed or are enrolled in Grade 12 Visual and/or performing arts courses.

Brad Wait Memorial Scholarship
​A scholarship valued at $1,500.00 CAD will be awarded in June to two students selected by the foundation.

Eligibility:
​Grade 12 graduating student
In good academic standing
Pursuing post-secondary education (university, college, trades etc.)
Has experienced significant hardship, such as: death of a sibling/parent, illness or mental health, child of a single parent or immigrant family

Rob Leviton Memorial Bursary

​The Rob Leviton Memorial Bursary provides $1,000 to two high school graduating students from the North Shore each year. The awards are intended to support individuals who demonstrate the attributes of community and charitable involvement, academic proficiency and an active lifestyle.​
