Dear Grade 9 Parents and Guardians,

Launched in 1994, Take Our Kids to Work Day is the most recognized career exploration event in Canada.Take Our Kids to Work Day will take place on the first Wednesday in November

What is the program about?

Take Our Kids to Work Day is a learning opportunity for Grade 9 students across Canada. Students spend the day at the workplace of a parent, relative, friend, or volunteer host. Through Take Our Kids to Work Day, students are able to witness the world of work firsthand, prompting early career planning, and enabling students to make informed decisions pertaining to their future goals and endeavors.

What if it is not possible to go to work with a parent?

There are other ways for your child to participate:

Ask a relative, neighbor or family friend to take your child to work.
Ask a parent who is taking his or her child to work if your son or daughter can join them for the day.
Contact local businesses and ask if they are participating in Take Our Kids to Work Day.

Student assignment:

Your student will be assigned 'A Take Your Kids to Work Day planning and reflection sheet', this assignment is submitted through MS Teams. If your child needs assistance uploading their assignment to Teams please send them to see their Grade 9 Counsellor

Students not attending a worksite on Take Our Kids to Work Day will complete an alternate assignment.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Hungle, our principal, at chungle@sd44.ca.

Sincerely,

Grade 9 Counsellor
