May 17 - Author Visit Robert Chaplin
Vancouver based author and artist, Robert Chaplin came to Upper Lynn on Friday, May 17 to share his books and knowledge with Mrs B's, Mr Mawson's, Mr Edgar's and Mr Lam's classes. He shared his books, Brussel Sprouts and Unicorns, One Elephant, How to Make Chicken Soup, Ten Counting Cat and Teeny Tom From Turnip Town with us. Robert has a Guiness World Record for publishing the smallest book ever, Teeny Tom From Turnip Town.
Robert publishes his own books and believes everyone should. He explained to us how to get an International Specific Book Number, an ISBN, from the National Library of Canada and shared some of the other "books" he has there in its collection. He hopes to soon see some of our students publish their own books and have their books included in the National Library of Canada.

Our Library Has Been Renovated!
Over the Spring Break, our Library received a facelift! The walls were painted white, we had a new carpet installed, a bookshelf was moved and a new one was added and the orientation of the front of the room changed. It took a little while to get back to the space but the wait was worth it because we are all very pleased to be back in our new Library! | |
