This is an opportunity for students & parents to learn more about the DMA & DMA Lite Academy program, meet with DMA & DMA Lite teachers and students and see these students at work on their various digital media projects in their Academy environment.

The NVSD’s  Digital Media Academy and DMA Lite is a mini school program based at Argyle. It is a specialty program for students who are focused on animation, film, visual effects, graphic design, sound engineering, programming, robotics, photography and web design.  The DMA program is an enriched hands-on program that provides students with access to a broad and useful range of skills and knowledge in digital design, technology, project management and problem solving.

  • The Digital Media Lite Academy takes place during block 4 on day one.  This is one class that is specifically for Grade 9 and 10 students and is open to all students across the North Vancouver School District.
  • The Digital Media FULL Academy is during Block 1, 2 and 3 and takes place on day one of the school calendar.  This is for Grade 11 and 12 students and is open to all students across the North Vancouver School District.  Block 4 would be an additional ‘academic’ block where students would resume at their home school.

DMA & DMA Lite incorporates STEAM in the curriculum which has enhanced the learning of the program as one of the main goals of the Digital Media Academy is to prepare students for post-secondary training and the many career opportunities in Digital Media, Science, Technology and Engineering.

Upon completion of the DMA program, students will have a portfolio of work for their post-secondary requirements.

DMA and DMA Lite applications are being accepted from Monday, January 21st thru Friday, March 1st 2019.
