June Auditions for 2019 - 2020 Choirs

AUDITIONS for 2019/20 year:
OPEN to any Argyle student, whether they are new to choir or have been in choir already. Regardless of whether you have signed up for the course or not, you can sign up in the music foyer after our concerts this week to audition on the following dates:

AUDITION TIMES 3:15 - 4:15pm -choir room ( please see Mrs Roberts if you have a conflict asap)

 MON. June 17 - Senior Vocal Ensemble 11/12  - must currently be in grade 10 or 11 and enrolled in either Choir 11/12 or Chamber Choir 11/12 to be able to participate, will sing on mics in groups of 4. The course runs in the regular class rotation, we specialize in jazz and pop repertoire sung acoustically and on mics. Looking for a piano, bass and drummer to be the rhythm section.

TUES. June 18 - Junior Jazz Choir 8/9/10 - must currently be in grade 8 or 9 , also looking for piano players, bass players and drummers. NO pre-requisite . We will sing rounds on mics in groups of 3.The class will meet in X block twice weekly, currently Tues & Thurs 7:30 - 8:30am.

WED. June 19 - Chamber Choir 9/10/11/12 - must currently be in grades 8 - 11, and interested in global & challenging music. We will be learning a section of a song to be sung acoustically in groups of  3 - 6. The class meets in X blocks Mon 7:30 - 8:30am / Wed 3:15 - 4:45pm / Fri lunch 1 - 1:30pm . Schedule open to discussion & planning amongst its members.

SINGERS do NOT need to prepare a solo song. These auditions are geared to show me how well and quickly the singers can learn and how well they collaborate with one another . Then finally how well they can sing together with some blend and balance.

AUDITION SIGNUP  - IN MUSIC FOYER  from THURS. June 6th - after the final concerts

Please consider trying out for one of these choirs, encourage a friend who has not tried yet. All other choir courses are a SIGN UP and SHOW UP. I am looking forward to another exciting year with the Argyle choirs and am happy to welcome newcomers to the program. Any concerns let me know.
