Program Overview

Summer Learning ELL courses are designed for students at levels 1-3 (beginning to consolidating) who are looking to practice and build upon their English reading, writing and oral language skills.

Students in this course must be prepared to participate in a variety of dynamic and interactive activities, including listening, speaking, reading and writing. There will be an emphasis on speaking and social interactions, as well as an introduction to the academic language expected at the secondary school level. The overall nature of the course will be experiential; students will work through various learning engagements to develop  the skills and confidence needed for the English Language.

Summer Learning teachers or administrators will NOT make placement recommendations to home schools.

A student's final report card will indicate "Proficient" or "Developing".

Attendance is mandatory in all face-to-face and online sessions.

Online registration for Foundations courses begins May 1, 2024. Families are encouraged to register early, as space is limited and fills up quickly.
