literacy-photo-2018.jpgLiteracy 8/9 is designed for students who meet the following criteria:

  • have taken English Language Arts 8 or 9, but their competency is emerging or developing

  • have an incomplete bank of core skills and foundational knowledge

  • require additional teacher support and direct instruction in developing foundational skills and knowledge

Literacy 8/9 focuses on curricular and core competencies. Literacy 8/9 is NOT a review of English 8 or 9 and NOT a preview course. (Please note, ELL students are better placed in the ELL 8-11 course.)

The Literacy course is personalized, as it is tailored to students' individual needs and provides extra support in developing reflective and actively engaged learners.
