Seymour Heights procedure for Bear Safety:

- we check the perimeter of the school grounds before recess and lunch breaks

- if a bear sighting is reported close to the school grounds during school instruction, we make an announcement to teachers to stay inside for gym or instruction until the bear has left the area

- we call the conservation officer if the bear is on school grounds or nearby

- we have the Bear Aware society visit classrooms and discuss bear safety
