HMPA Volunteer Opportunities
most pressing needs for this year are for parents to work with and
learn the ropes for our two main fundraising events – our annual Sweet
Music Concert and our semi-annual bottle drives. The parents who have
been coordinating these events for the past several years are both
‘graduating’ this year and in order to ensure that we can continue to
run these important events, we need some new parents to help out. The
idea would be for this to be a transition year with some new parents
learning the ropes for these important roles.
In addition, we are looking for volunteers to fill the following roles:
Co-Chair – Works with the teachers to assist in the smooth running of the music program. Chairs HMPA meetings. Acts as a liaison between the music program and the parents. Provides overall leadership to HMPA.
Bottle Drive helper – Commits to working all day on the day of the bottle drive to help oversee the students and the bottle sorting.
Bottle Drive Lunch Coordinator – Coordinates the lunch and the snacks for the bottle drive students and volunteer parents.
Concert Set-up – Assists the teachers and the students to set up venues for concerts.
– Assist the Concert supervisor with supervising students during the
concerts and ensure that students are ready to go on stage at the
Display Cases – Collects photographs from the concert photographers and arranges them in the display cases near the music room.
Purdy’s Fundraising – Organizes the annual Purdy’s fundraising drive. Distributes the chocolates at the Sweet Music concert.
Photographer – Senior Night – takes group and individual photos at the senior concerts. Provides pictures to the Display Case Volunteer.
Secretary – takes minutes at HMPA meetings.
Sweet Music Assistants – Assists with the planning and execution of the annual Sweet Music Fundraising Concert.
Door Donations – takes donations at the door for concerts throughout the year.
