Textile Art Exploration

Students will explore a variety of ways to use and upcycle textiles such as felt, cotton, wool and synthetic thread. We will be focusing on the basic skills and techniques needed to embroider patches, paint fabric, and weave their choice of personalized artworks. ​

Instructor: Catherine Blais-Crepeau

Instructor bio: Catherine Crepeau has been an elementary school teacher for 5 years, a visual artist for decades, and a textile art convert for the past 4 years. She is currently teaching middle years at Cleveland where she runs an embroidery club during lunch and indulges her artistic passions with her classroom. In her spare time, Catherine paints, sculpts, and upcycles clothes and materials through embroidery, patchwork, and weaving.
