Carson Graham Capital Project Update

Staff and students have now completed their first year of school in the new Carson Graham Secondary. Throughout the course of the year, landscaping work was completed around the exterior of the school. The bioswale infiltration system for storm water has functioned extremely well during the rainy spring weather. Instead of piping stormwater directly into Mission Creek, the bioswale redirects flow to an infiltration zone so that it can be naturally filtered and gradually released into the creek. An improved method of stormwater management, bioswales reduce runoff volumes and prevent some pollutants from flowing into the creek. Pollutants settle into the surrounding soil, where they may be naturally immobilized or decomposed.

The new traffic plan and drop-off area will be opened when school resumes in September.
