École Dorothy Lynas Elementary School is a public dual track elementary school situated in the lovely Indian River community of North Vancouver
École Dorothy Lynas Elementary School is a vibrant learning community situated on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish people. We acknowledge the history of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation – People of the Inlet (twnation.ca) and the incredible 'teachings' our school is provided. In collaboration with home-school, we strive for alignment with the Strategic Plan 2021-2031 - North Vancouver School District (sd44.ca). We offer English and French Immersion programs for students enrolled in Kindergarten to Grade 7. We are part of both the Seycove (English) and Windsor (French Immersion) Secondary School families of school. Please visit us! To access our school, take the Mount Seymour Parkway turning north onto Mount Seymour Road, then right onto Ind. River Drive and right onto Inlet Crescent.

Students in Grades 9–12 and their families are invited to explore the wide range of careers and career pathways available in the arts. Students with an interest in visual arts, music, music therapy, dance, fashion design, architecture, gallery curation, jewelry making, animation, special effects, or acting are encouraged to attend.
Engage with local businesses and cultural icons like the Vancouver Opera, Inuit Gallery of Vancouver, Opus Art Supplies, and Presentation House Theatre.
Explore post secondary opportunities with representatives from La Salle College, Capilano University, SFU's School for the Contemporary Arts, KPU’s Wilson School of Design, BCIT Architecture and Design, Vancouver Film School, Langara College, Vancouver Community College and Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

The Elementary Band & Strings Program is a unique instrumental music program that is distinctive to the NVSD. The program complements the BC Ministry of Education’s Arts Education curriculum and provides school-based instrumental instruction to students in the intermediate grades (Grades 5 – 7 for Band and Grades 4 – 7 for Strings).More information is available on the Band and Strings web page.
