The goal of Earth Hour is to encourage people and communities around the world to turn off non-essential lights for one hour from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. This action is meant to show support for the planet and raise awareness of the environmental issues impacting it. The first Earth Hour event was held in 2007.
Earth Hour usually occurs on the last Saturday of the month in March but will take place on March 23 in 2024, due to the Easter weekend.
