The student population at Cove Cliff is consistently inclusive. Students accept others and are respectful of one another. Older students at Cove Cliff take pride in their school community and are seen as leaders by the younger students. Students respect and look out for one another, regardless of age, and even take the time to know each other’s names.
 
Teachers at Cove Cliff provide an inclusive and differentiated learning community. Overall, the staff is valued in the community as caring individuals who work hard and are committed to building positive relationships.

    The Digital Media Academy present: DMA WORKSHOP SERIES featuring the Vancouver Film School Designing and Animating a Title Sequence: You had me at the Opening Credits! Creative title sequences date back to the beginning of filmmaking and continue to be a crucial part of the art form. In this 2-day workshop, we will investigate the history of title sequences and take an in-depth look at the different genres and styles that have influenced today’s movie title sequences. We will then dive into a practical demonstration using After-Effects, applying some of these stylistic approaches to create compelling and professional-level transitions and custom FX to make a title sequence that audiences will not forget. FREE animation/film workshop WHEN: Monday/Tuesday, December 11th and 12th, 4-6 PM WHERE: Argyle Secondary School, 1131 Frederick Rd, North Vancouver, (Classroom 426) COST: Free! Please Note: Recommended for students in Grades 8 through 12. Limited seating available Please RSVP Jennifer VanderMye at: JVanderMye@sd44.ca The NVSD’s DMA/ Digital Media Academy is a mini school program based at Argyle Secondary School in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver. The DMA is a specialty program for students in Grades 11 & 12 who are focused on animation, film, visual effects, graphic design, sound engineering, photography and web design. The DMA program is an enriched hands-on program that provides students with access to a broad and useful range of skills and knowledge in digital design, technology, project management and problem solving. The DMA incorporates STEAM in the curriculum which has enhanced the learning of the program as of the main goals of the Digital Media Academy is to prepare students for post-secondary training and the many career opportunities in Digital Media, Science, Technology and Engineering.
