    The Culinary Arts program partnership between the North Vancouver School District and Vancouver Community College provides a special opportunity for secondary school students to complete their Grade 11 and 12 graduation requirements while earning post-secondary credits and certification as a Professional Chef Level 1 in the culinary arts industry. This is a unique opportunity for students to learn lifelong skills and gain a foothold into the culinary industry through a quality program taught by a Vancouver Community College Red Seal Chef. The VCC Culinary Arts Level 1 program is taught in a state-of-the-art professional kitchen at Carson Graham Secondary School and runs Monday to Thursday afternoon which allows students to complete their academic studies in the morning. Classes begin in September 2018 (2018/2019 school year).     The Digital Media Academy presents: DMA WORKSHOP SERIES “Countdown to Launch”: Intro to Unity Game Engine Workshop: Unity Topic Description: In this workshop, students will have learned the fundamentals required to develop, design, and produce a variety of interactive entertainment products using Unity. With a focus on the C# programming language, students will learn how to code a scene from a game with graphics, input, and sound. WHEN: Monday/Tuesday, February 26 & 27 AND Monday/ Tuesday, March 5 & 6, 4:30-6:30 PM – 8 hours total instruction WHERE: Argyle Secondary School, 1131 Frederick Rd, North Vancouver, (Classrooms 425 & 426) AGES: Grade 9-12 students COST: Free! The DMA is a specialty program for students in Grades 11 & 12 who are focused on animation, film, visual effects, graphic design, sound engineering, photography and web design. The DMA program is an enriched hands-on program that provides students with access to a broad and useful range of skills and knowledge in digital design, technology, project management and problem solving. The DMA incorporates STEAM in the curriculum which has enhanced the learning of the program as of the main goals of the Digital Media Academy is to prepare students for post-secondary training and the many career opportunities in Digital Media, Science, Technology and Engineering.
