School Supply Lists for Students

Dear Ridgeway Families,

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I would like to share some important information regarding school supplies for all grades.

For the 2025/26 school year, we are implementing a new approach to school supplies. Instead of asking each family to purchase individually, we are offering to collect a fee from families, and our teachers will then purchase the necessary supplies for students. This was our practice for students in Kindergarten and Grade 1. With this model, students will take home their own work over the course of the year and in June, but school supplies will remain at Ridgeway. If you wish to purchase school supplies individually, please email the school office for a list of the needed materials; make sure to note the grade(s) you require.

This initiative is designed to benefit our school community in several ways including cost savings by buying in bulk, time savings for parents, equity amongst students, and waste reduction. In addition, Ridgeway teachers will use this opportunity to teach students important executive functioning skills like organization and planning. Click here to learn more about children and executive functioning skills.

The fee for school supplies for the 2025-26 school year will be $52.50 for students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 and $62.50 for students in Grade 4 to 7. This fee covers all the necessary items for the entire school year, including notebooks, pencils, art supplies, and other classroom essentials. Payment will be due in September 2025, and more details will be shared at the start of the new school year.

We believe that this new approach will greatly benefit our students and families. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher or the office.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation,

Jillian Gordon, Principal and Kristy Godo, Vice Principal
