Highlands Goals
Goal #1
At Highlands Elementary School, we practice inclusion and self-regulation while aiming to increase capacity in our students and staff by explicitly demonstrating and valuing acceptance, and teaching all students social-emotional learning (SEL) skills and self-regulation strategies.
Goal #2
At Highlands Elementary School, we strive for all students to improve their literacy and numeracy competencies through explicit, daily instruction and practice based on research-proven strategies.

Easter is a religious holiday in the Christian faith. Easter Monday takes place the day after Easter Sunday, which commemorates Jesus Christ's resurrection. Easter is not a fixed date on the Gregorian calendar. Schools are closed on Easter Monday.
The North Vancouver School District welcomes 3 - 5 year-olds with their parents, guardians, childcare providers, or early childhood educators to Ready, Set, Learn – a free early learning event funded by the BC Ministry of Education.
The theme for 2026 is Learn, Play, Explore. The event will involve a variety of stations focused on learning through literacy and play that align with the Ministry of Education and Child Care's BC Early Learning Framework.
