About

A Message from the District Principal of Indigenous Education

With truth and reconciliation and equity learning being called to action, we are creating trauma-informed teaching and learning opportunities for students, families, and staff.

We are also increasing our collective awareness of historical impacts, implementing Indigenous youth leadership and mentorship programs, and developing curriculum resources and professional development opportunities to advance awareness of Indigenous knowledge and equity.

We believe collaboration, communication, relationships, and equitable work environments are key to Indigenous learning success. Having an Indigenous lens allows me to see with humility and honour of where Indigenous peoples and the education system are, and where we are travelling together. Just as in the canoe, if we paddle together in collaboration, we will reach our destination.
