My name is Jane Pike. This year, I am sharing the counselling role at Lynn Valley Elementary with Jenny Simpson.

I love my work as a school counsellor because it allows me to connect with and  support youth who are figuring out who they are and how they want to be in the world. I am passionate about working together with colleagues and families to create a safe,  supportive, kind and peaceful community.

I am also part of the District Social Emotional Learning team this year and am excited about the emphasis our school and our district  is placing on these types of skills – skills for life!

When I'm not working, I enjoy time with my family, both in town and off grid.  I also like to 'hike' and 'bike',  which may  help you remember my name.

I look forward to working with my school community again this year.

I can be reached anytime at jpike@sd44.ca, or by confidential voicemail 604-903-3444, ext 829941

Jenny Simpson

Hello, my name is Jenny Simpson. I am the school counsellor at Lynn Valley, along with Ross Road Elementary.

I earned my Masters in Counselling in January 2019, and then joined North Vancouver School District. I was a high school teacher for 14 years and I took an education leave to complete my Masters. I am a member of the BCACC.

In my degree I studied trauma and post traumatic growth. I work in a strength-based and collaborative approaches with my clients. I enjoy spending time hiking with my dog, paddling or snowshoeing when I can.

I also volunteer my time in my community garden and with Rainbow Refugees. I am happy to be working with the students at both of my schools this year and learning from my colleagues!
