The staff and students of Eastview wore jerseys and green to show their support for the Humboldt community this past Thursday. This initiative was started by our grade six students. Along with the jerseys, an Eastview family provided hockey sticks to be signed by students which will then be delivered to the Humboldt community. Thank you to all for your participation.
"As some of you may know, a Junior hockey team was on their way to a game when they were hit by a truck. 15 lives were lost and 14 were left in critical condition. Since the tragedy, the sports community across our nation has joined together to hold up the Humboldt community. Members of the community have raised millions of dollars to support the Humboldt Broncos. One other thing they are doing is planning a day to celebrate the power of team sports and show appreciation to the families and victims. This will be happening on Thursday April 12th. You can show your support by wearing a sports jersey or green because Canada is a community and something like this affects us all. We hope everyone will join us to wear a sports jersey or green to support the Humboldt Broncos."
