Work Experience

What is it?

Work Experience (WEX) and Internship courses allow Grade 11 and 12 students to immerse themselves in the working world, develop new skills, and fine-tune their career goals before graduation.

How does it work?

  • Students are placed in volunteer positions that align with their interests and future career goals.
  • Students are provided on-the-job training in a supportive environment.
  • Employers share work knowledge and life skills with young people, while also gaining the opportunity to mentor potential young employees before hiring them.

What are the benefits?

In conjunction with Career-Life Education (CLE) and Career-Life Connections (CLC), work experience helps prepare students for the transition from secondary school to the world of work, for further education and training, or for other post-graduation opportunities.
