Welcome!
École Windsor Secondary is situated on the unceded, traditional territory of the Tsleil-Waututh and Skwxwú7mesh Nations. I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to learn, share and grow on this traditional territory.
At Windsor, we aspire “to be a vibrant learning environment where individuals respect and encourage each other to develop the competencies to thrive in a rapidly changing world." Our staff, students, and community all contribute to ensuring we strive towards this vision.
One of the great aspects of our school is the variety of experiences available to our student body. French Immersion, Academies, and a rich offering of courses ranging from mathematics to rebuilding engines, Spanish to electronics, musical theatre to calculus - all allow for an exploration of a multitude of areas of interest over Grades 8 through 12. Enriching all this are the many extracurricular opportunities available including Athletics, Applied Skills, Fine & Performing Arts, and a wide variety of clubs - ranging from drag racing to manga, chess to sewing for charities. More importantly, experiences offer opportunity to develop a strong connection to our school community and to each other. While Windsor is primarily a place of learning it is also a hub where ideas are nurtured, friendships are formed, and passions are discovered and ignited. We strive to walk alongside students as they develop their unique interests and turn them into strengths.
Of great importance to our school is fostering an inclusive environment where diversity is appreciated and fostered. A school should be a safe place for everyone and one of the ways we create this place is by embracing the distinctiveness that each person brings to our building every day. Our athletics motto is "Wolves never walk alone" and we believe this both in the classroom and beyond. Please take a moment to review our Code of Conduct as it embodies these ideals. Students grow in character rapidly as they journey from Grade 8 to Grade 12 - we expect bumps along the way in high school and remind both students and parents that learning from and through mistakes is a valuable part of development.
Finally, I would like to thank each of you for the support you provide to our students. Whether you are a staff member, parent, caregiver, or member of our community, each of you contributes to our school – making it a remarkable place to learn.
With appreciation,
Caren Hall
Principal, Windsor Secondary School
