An event for families with children aged 3-5 years.
Saturday, April 6, 2019 9:30-11:00am
We'll enjoy a great morning together of story, sounds and alphabet fun combined with movement and art as we explore active, tactile and engaging pre-reading activities that provide foundations for literacy. Parents will also have opportunities to talk with our teachers about the importance of early learning experiences and connections between pre-school and Kindergarten.
We will begin with a movement activity in the gym and a group story time followed by a sound hunt in the school. This will be followed by activity stations in the Kindergarten classrooms that will include listening to and creating stories, sound games, puppet play, drawing, making nameplates and other introductory alphabet play like fishing for letters. A snack table and reading nook will be available for those who need a break from the action.
