2026 Paradise Valley Summer School of Visual Art
July 6 to 10, 2026
5 days, 4 nights, inclusive
Young artists ages 9 - 15 will explore their surroundings in the beautiful setting of Paradise Valley. This environment provides an ideal source to explore concepts of form and colour. Students will receive in-depth instruction in collage, drawing, painting and printmaking. Working in small studio groups, teachers support individual skill development and artistic voice. This week long camp is thoughtfully balanced with outdoor recreation and studio time.
Registration opens February 4, 2026 at 12:00 PM (noon)
2026 Artist in Residence: Geoffrey Farmer

Artist Bio
Geoffrey
Farmer is an artist who builds story worlds from cutouts, sculpture,
writing, and found objects. He lives on Kauaʻi where he is beginning
Community Flowers, a small place that hosts artists and grows food,
alongside Charlie the donkey, Rick the goat, and Rambo the ram. His
exhibitions include the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of
Ontario, SFMOMA, and Louvre, with recent work at the Audain Art Museum.
At Paradise Valley he will teach observation as a springboard for
invention. Campers will forage ideas as much as materials, listening to
the river, pocketing rumors of bark and light, and translating them into
quick scores, small performances, and story objects. Field notes become
games. Sketches become sound. A pile of twigs becomes a pocket museum.
By week’s end the group will have made a commons of experiments that
speak, move, and invite others in.

Bursaries are available for families in need of financial support. Please contact afkinfo@sd44.ca for more information.
