A group of students and recent graduates from North Vancouver’s
Carson Graham Secondary have banded together to write and perform a song
thanking first responders for their work during the COVID-19 crisis.
“We hope to deliver our message and gratitude to all the workers who
have not given up in these challenging times,” said Parichehr Haghani,
who co-wrote the song's lyrics with Bethanea Chou. “What we can do
during this hard time is to inspire them and let them know about how
important they are for us and how thankful we are to have them."
The song incorporates the vocals of Chou and Sogand Golshahian over
an instrumental cover of the song “Heroes” by Alesso DJ featuring Tove
Lo. On the student track Chou and Ryan Hossein Nejad are featured on
piano, Chou on guitar, Haghani on violin, and Luke Forrester on
clarinet. Ava Naseri did the editing for the project.
“[We] worked on this song to show our appreciation to all of the
frontliners for their valuable efforts to protect and keep us safe,”
said Haghani. “We thank them for their bravery and selflessness.”
