I would like to provide you with an update regarding tomorrow, Tuesday, June 29.
Secondary Schools.
There will be no change for secondary schools β the schedules/plans
communicated to secondary students and families will remain in place for
Tuesday, June 29.
Elementary Schools. Elementary schools will be in session*; however, the day will allow for early dismissal for elementary students (12:00 noon). Please prepare for your children to be dismissed from school tomorrow at 12:00 noon.
We
hope that having elementary schools in-session until 12:00 noon will
provide students the opportunity to have their final day at school and
collect any remaining personal items and school-related material. This
will also provide for students and staff to say goodbye and end the year
on a positive note.
As elementary schools may have activities
planned for Tuesday, June 29, principals will be following up with
families and sending school-specific messaging later today.
*Please note:
- Schools with a pre-scheduled Pro-D day on Tuesday will continue to have Tuesday as a non-instructional day.
- For
students and families in the Temporary Elementary Transition Support
Option and Hospital Homebound Instruction Program, remote instruction
will continue as planned tomorrow in the morning and/or afternoon, as
per usual schedules.
I acknowledge changes to school
schedules have an impact on families. However, this extreme heat event
is one that we have not experienced before, despite a year of
unprecedented events, and the decisions we make are always with the
health and safety of our students and staff top of mind.
Please keep yourself and your loved ones safe and refer to resource links shared in yesterdayβs update for more information and tips.
Keep well,
