    ​National Indigenous Veterans Day honours the thousands of Indigenous peoples who served overseas during the First World War, Second World War and Korean War. On the home front, Indigenous communities donated money and worked for the war industry. Despite their contributions and sacrifices, Indigenous peoples remained marginalized.

    National Indigenous Veterans Day was established in Winnipeg in 1994; it is observed annually on November 8.

    ​Remembrance Day is a memorial day for those who served and continue to serve Canada during times of war, conflict and peace. It is celebrated annually on November 11 to recall the end of the First World War hostilities at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

    ​Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual observance that honours the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. It began in 1999 by Gwendolyn Ann as a vigil to honour the memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was killed in 1998. It is observed annually on November 20.

    ​The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls aims to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls around the world, calls for global action to increase awareness, promotes advocacy, and creates opportunities for discussion on challenges and solutions. It was designated as a day of observance by the United Nations General Assembly in 1999 and is observed annually on November 25.
