RE: June Plan Reminders
Dear Ecole Sherwood Park Families,
We hope that you had a nice weekend and were able to enjoy the beautiful sunshine on Sunday. As a follow up communication that was sent on Friday outlining our week-in review of re-opening to in-class instruction, we wanted to share a few important reminders to make sure we continue to stay healthy during BC's Restart Plan.
Student Health Checks
A reminder to parents/guardians of their responsibility to ensure a health check is completed before children are sent to school and to ensure that children who are unwell are kept at home. We are reliant upon parents'/guardians' cooperation and diligence with this task. Students who arrive or become ill at school will be sent home. Please use the Health Checklist Resource found on our website.
A reminder to parents/guardians to continue to mind the physical distancing measures in place and to maintain two metres between yourselves and others from outside your own households. We recognize that the Provincial Health Officer and Ministry of Education have acknowledged that strict two metre physical distancing is harder for younger students, and the guidelines for younger children is to minimize physical contact and encourage them to keep their hands to themselves and stay within their own body bubbles.
|Physical distancing (i.e., maintaining a distance of 2 meters between two or more people) is challenging in a K-12 school setting, particularly with younger students. As such, it is reasonable to establish different expectations for varying age levels and activities. For example, younger students should be supported to have minimized physical contact with one another, while older students and adults should seek to maintain a safe physical distance whenever possible (Provincial COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines for K-12 Setting, page 6). |
Plan for Week of June 22
We will continue with our current reopening of in-class instruction and distance learning schedule for the first three weeks of June from June 1 to June 19. In other words, the in-class instruction and distance learning schedule established for June 1 is in place for the first three weeks of June ONLY. The fourth week of June – Monday, June 22 to Thursday, June 25 – will be used to wrap up the year and organize pick up of items and materials.
For the week of June 22, the in-school schedule has been adjusted as we complete the year. Please note that we will not be accepting new attendance in the last week of June.
- Mon – Cohort A K-5 and Priority Learners
- Tues – Cohort A 6-7 and Priority Learners
- Wed – Priority Learners + Remote Learning
- Thurs – Cohort B K-5, Cohort B 6-7, and Priority Learners
- Fri – Admin Day (school closed)
All student school items will be sent home the week of June 22 with your child. If your child has not returned to in-class instruction and you have not picked up your child's items, please come to the school the week of June 22 to collect them.
