2017-2018 Honour Roll
To support the successful implementation of the BC Ministry's renewed curriculum, changes have been made to Honour Roll to align with the shift from a culture of grading to a culture of learning.
• Grade 12 – Honour Roll will be calculated using the March report card marks.
Certificates will be issued in June 2018.
• Grade 10 & 11 – Honour Roll will be calculated using the June cumulative final report card marks.
Certificates will be issued in September 2018.
• Grade 8 & 9 – Honour Roll will not be issued
Honour Roll is calculated using the following criteria:
• Honour Roll with Distinction Grades averaging 89.5% or higher
• Honour Roll Grades averaging 85.5% to 89.4%
• Honourable Mention Grades averaging between 79.5% and 85.4%
Students must be taking a minimum of:
• Grade 10: 8 eligible courses per year which may include NVSD Academies, Peak Performance, and NV Distributed Learning
• Grade 11: 7 eligible courses per year which may include NVSD academies, Peak Performance, and NV Distributed Learning
• Grade 12: 6 eligible courses per year which may include NVSD academies, Peak Performance, and NV Distributed Learning
Students will not be eligible if in any course a student receives:
- An Incomplete (I)
- A Failing (F) grade, or
- A Needs Improvement (N) Work Habit
Courses NOT eligible in Honour Roll calculations include:
- Transition Planning 12
- Courses less than four credits
- Courses taken outside the NVSD
