University Entrance and DL Course Deadlines:
If you plan to attend UBC next September:
If you are currently taking, or plan to take Distributed Learning (online) courses to meet your admission requirements, include these courses in the list of courses you will complete this year in the "academic profile" section of the UBC application, and do not provide an in-progress grade.
Completion dates for Distributed Learning Courses:
Used to Calculate your Competitive Admission Average
- If you wish to use your DL course in the calculation of your competitive admission average, the course must be 100% complete by February 1 and your Distributed Learning provider/school must submit the final grade to the Ministry of Education so that it appears on your Ministry of Education Student Secure Web in time for you to self-report these grades in March/April
Used to Meet Degree-Specific Requirements
- Distributed Learning courses completed by June 30 can be used to met pre-requisites but will not be used in the calculation of your competitive admission average.
- Students who have already graduated from high school and are upgrading courses must complete all courses and submit a final, official transcript to UBC by March 15, 2018
If you plan to attend SFU next September:
Please note there is a new deadline for SFU.
Distributed Learning courses can be used to meet your admission requirements as long as the course is 100% complete by April 30th.
Your DL provider must report your grade to the Ministry of Education to ensure our office receives your official grade electronically in May.
DL courses completed after January 31st can be used to meet course pr-requisites but will not be used for admission purposes.
If you plan to attend BCIT next September:
50% of the gradeable material must be completed and students should be past the mid point of the course. More competitive programs will require course completion
If you plan to attend Capilano University next September:
50% of the course must be completed to apply with a mid-term grade. Course completion may be required for more competitive programs as spots are limited.
If you plan to attend UVic next September:
50% of the course must be done by the time students self-report (between February 15 and March 31). Students should have the course fully completed by May 31.
