Pink Shirt Day

Have you ever wished you could: listen to slam poetry, watch videos, make a daisy chain, send some love, go on a cake walk, buy yummy baked goods and participate in a flash mob all in one school day while wearing PINK? Well, we have good news. On Wed. February 27 you can!!  It’s Anti-Bullying day!  A group of students and teachers met to plan a full day of the above to honour this worldwide initiative.  An email will be sent to you late Tuesday on Carson staff that will have the video links and the following schedule for the day. Thank you for your support in honouring our students in their attempt to make a change.

 
9:55 Block 5 -Students will read 2 slam poetry pieces over the P.A. and prompt you to show the following 7 min. video http://www.upworthy.com/bullies-called-him-pork-chop-he-took-that-pain-with-him-and-then-cooked-it-into?g=2

11:10 Block 6 -Students will perform 2 more slam poetry pieces and then prompt you to watch the following 1:30 min. video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVEM0elRA_4 Encourage students to write positive messages on pink post it notes (Check your box in the office)  Post  these inside  the hearts that have been drawn on an exterior window near your classroom.

1:15 Lunch – In the Agora, join a flash mob, take a cake walk, enjoy a bake sale, string up a love chain.
