The Great Shoreline Cleanup

October 07, 2020

The Argyle Environment Club welcomes you to join us for our own Great Canadian Shoreline Clean-Up, taking place on Sunday, Oct. 11th at Ambleside. We will be meeting on the field beside the duck pond at 11:00 am.

The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is a national conservation program that provides Canadians the opportunity to take action in their communities wherever water meets land, one bit of trash at a time. There will be a short workshop on the detrimental effects that microplastics have on our ecosystems before we start the clean-up. This is a great volunteer opportunity to learn about our environment and get involved with the community! For students looking for volunteer hours, you can bring a volunteer form.

Our goals are to help bring awareness to plastic consumption and give back to the environment and community on Thanksgiving weekend. With regards to COVID procedures, social distancing will be mandatory and we are recommending students wear masks as we are in a public setting. Attendance will be taken as well as a phone number for contact tracing purposes. We ask that everyone wash their hands before arrival - hand sanitizer will be provided.

We hope to see you this Sunday, October 11th at 11:00 am!
