Artists for Kids (AFK) and the North Vancouver School District (NVSD) are
excited to partner to spotlight excellence in the arts through the Young Artist
of the Week program
The Young
Artist of the Week program provides recognition to student artists and raises
public awareness of the importance of the diverse Arts education offered in
schools across the North Vancouver School District. This year, the program has
expanded to include visual arts, music, dance and drama
Starting the
week of May 24, 2021, students who have been nominated by their schools will be
recognized on the AFK and NVSD websites and social media channels. Each weekly
spotlight includes a photo of a student with their work in arts and a short
biography
The Young
Artist of the Week program exemplifies how a community comes together,
celebrating and supporting children and youth in the community. For over
30 years, the North Shore News partnered with AFK, providing recognition to student
artists and raising public awareness of the importance of arts education in
North Vancouver School District schools and community. AFK is extremely
thankful to the North Shore News for their generosity and grateful to continue
this tradition, now with the North Vancouver School District
