It was graduation day Friday, Aug. 2 for five Squamish Nation youth. The youth completed an intensive indigenous cultural education facilitation program at Cheakamus Centre during the month of July. They learned from traditional knowledge keepers and developed teaching skills to inspire children to learn more about Indigenous cultures, according to a spokesperson from the centre. The program was funded by RBC Future Launch and the Squamish Arts Council.
