Community Canvas 2.0

May 23, 2017

What Does Community Look Like? – On Canvas!  If this sounds familiar it’s because secondary school students in the North Vancouver School District were given this exact challenge earlier this school year. Not to be outdone, seven North Vancouver elementary schools were asked the same question by the North Vancouver RCMP Youth Intervention Unit. While working in their respective schools, the youth officers along with the support of the School District created the project Community Canvas 2.0. Officers provided the canvases, paint and brushes, and asked the students to answer that question: what does community look like to you?

"From grades one to seven, these artist’s finished works are truly impressive and creative," said organizer Cpl. Marlies Dick of the North Vancouver RCMP Youth Intervention Unit.
