Sixteen-year-old North Vancouver resident Camila Palacios recently
spearheaded a campaign to donate 66 care packages to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre.
After Palacios put out the call on a local Facebook group that she was
looking for new or slightly used donations – including toothbrushes,
soap bars, feminine hygiene products, nail polish and more – the Grade 12 École Argyle Secondary student
received many enthusiastic responses.
Palacios and her mother drove through the Lynn Valley and Lonsdale areas picking up bags of donations of basic toiletries.
