Mental Health Week 2019

This year’s theme for the Canadian Mental Health Association's Mental Health Week is #GetLoud, which encourages people to spread the word about what mental health really is.

The North Vancouver School District (NVSD) has been both committed to and engaged in supporting the Social Emotional and Mental Wellness of all of our students, K-12, for the past few years.

NVSD has now named Social Emotional Learning and Mental Health as one of its top five priority areas and continues to be a leader in the province in this important area.

All grade 9 students across NVSD receive Mental Health Literacy curriculum and all administrators are enrolled in a UBC Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) called Teach Mental Health.

Strong partnerships continue to develop locally between NVSD, Ministry of Child and Family Development, and Vancouver Coastal Health, including Foundry and the North Shore Community Action Team.
